Literacy (M/W), Level A

OCYL: Mayor's Office of Children Youth and Learning

Cumberland, RI

About the program

Full Year includes 60 class days. Children learn literacy skills through a targeted curriculum that includes songs, poems, circle time, literacy centers, small and whole group activities, and read-alouds. Children engage in play and activities that are related to alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, print knowledge, comprehension, reading and writing. The curriculum is aligned with the RI Early Learning & Development Standards. Meets twice per week. We strongly recommend new families schedule a private tour with the Early Childhood Coordinator before registering. Please contact the main desk at main.ocyl@gmail.com or (401)475-0929 x1 to request a time with Mrs. "B" Lori Beauregard. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a Drop-off Class and therefore children must meet the following requirements; use the bathroom independently, separate easily from parent/guardian, and be 3 years old by the first day of class.
