Giving this Season
Published On: November 27, 2024Last winter my sons volunteered to shovel for the elderly in Watertown, MA. The local Parks & Recreation Department hosts a wonderful program that connects seniors with kids who need to rack up volunteer hours for school. Oh – and who want to help their neighbors. My son Sean received the most thoughtful ‘thank you’ note from the woman he shoveled for all winter. It made him feel incredibly proud of the work he had done to help a neighbor. Here’s a link to join the Watertown Snow Removal program this year:
There are so many ways to help the local community this giving season. Here are just a few ideas:
Watertown Community Foundation.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Foundation’s leader Tia Tilson last week. She is fantastic! The work she and her team do for Watertown impacts so many groups from behind the scenes. The Foundation helps fund Youth Sports Leagues to help families offset the cost of programs, School Programs to bring interactive STEM learning to our schools, and Block Parties to help keep our neighbors connected. Please consider supporting this highly active Foundation. Learn more here.
